Jayesh P. Patel MBA, FinstSMM
A highly experienced management consultant, Non Executive Director and Business Strategist predominantly working with SMEs and Accountancy Firms and their clients. Specialising in taking SMEs from 6 figures to 8 figures in 10 years. He has worked for two FTSE 100 companies in various senior financial and Change Management roles, including a substantial project for a global healthcare organisation.
Jayesh (Jay) built and sold a highly successful Financial Advisory practice in 2006 and has worked with and advised businesses in Financial Services, Healthcare, Professional Services, Engineering and Manufacturing, Energy, Video Gaming, Insolvency Practitioners, Training and Development and other service sector businesses. He has also had substantial success in assisting clients to grow and dispose of their businesses either through a trade or institutional sale.
He has an MBA (Distinction); where he specialised in Organisational Structure and Marketing Strategy. In addition, he has been awarded a Fellowship of the Institute for Sales and Marketing since 1997 and is Non Executive Director Award 2021 Nominee.
He was born in Melton Mowbray and is married with two children. Jay enjoys walking and watching football as well as believing he is the Prince of Punjab (ask him).
Corporate Social Responsibility
I believe that it is important to always give back to the society and community in which you operate and as such I have always engaged in various activities. I have served as a Magistrate; been a College Governor; helped young entrepreneurs with the Prince’s Trust as a Business Mentor and raised funds for The Manchester Children’s Hospital, as well as providing approximately 100 toys at Christmas time for the children in hospital each year.
“I was lucky enough to win £3,000 worth of advertising (during Covid-19) from an initiative run by the National Federation of Small Businesses (FSB) and the Daily Mail, Mail on Sunday, Metro and i newspapers, I used the national advertising to offer SMEs throughout the UK, £2,000 worth of free consultancy advice during the pandemic.”
During 2020 I felt it was important to give back to the business community that Progressive is based in and as such I approached and became a High Growth Business Mentor for Be the Business, part of the GM Business Growth Hub as well as a Business Mentor for the Growth Hub.
National Charity Mission

In the spirit of what I did in 2020, I would like to provide the same offer as above to 3 SMEs each year. Please book a meeting with me through my website and quote “Covid” in your request and I will try and help as many businesses as I can..
As a 15 year old I was part of a group of children who entered the Young Enterprise initiative in my school. I was elected as the Managing Director of my teams’ project and the mentor that we had was a Director from Mars UK. My team was lucky enough to win, this inspired me to go into business some years later.
I decided to approach Young Enterprise in 2020 to volunteer as a Business Mentor and have been allocated a local school project. I am genuinely excited to see young entrepreneurs who have such different ways to look at business issues and how they solve problems. I hope to inspire them to become successful entrepreneurs of the future and for them to achieve their objectives.
